In a world of instability, there is a path of security. In a world of sorrow, there is a path of delight. In a world of death, there is a path of life. The world alone can offer us no stability, no guarantees, no firm foundation.
Many paths lie before us, but only one leads to “pleasures forevermore.” On this way, we cry out to God, “You are my Lord and apart from you I have no good thing!” Do you know the better path? Do you know how to walk and stay on it?
This is the path of true security and true joy. As we set the Lord before us by faith, our bodies and souls can rest secure. Through bold prayer, Psalm 16 calls us to set our whole being on the only one wholly capable of offering life.
