FAQ2020-01-01T20:15:36+00:00

We know that getting to know a church family, or even finding one to visit, can be an intimidating venture.  See below for some of the questions we often hear from our guests.

What should I wear or bring?2019-02-12T16:31:18+00:00

Bottom line, be who you are!  Most folks dress comfortably in casual to semi-casual clothing.  Our focus is on God and not on impressing one another.  And though we take an offering each week as worship to God, we desire all guests to be free from any compulsion to give.

What activities is CCC involved in?2019-09-30T15:37:05+00:00

CCC is actively involved in a variety of overseas missions, with yearly short-term missions trips to Haiti and Honduras. We have strong local connections with The Bridge Ministry and International Students, Inc. We also support Charlottesville Abundant Life MinistriesYoung Life, and Thrive Central VA, among others.

Is CCC part of a denomination?2018-07-03T02:30:25+00:00

Christ Community Church is nondenominational.  We are, however, a member of e4 Partnership, an organization with other churches of like faith and practice.  This group provides accountability and fellowship among the leaders of member churches. The purpose of e4 is to willingly serve each other’s interests so that all will grow up into vibrant maturity and fruitful kingdom mission.

What does it mean that you’re a “charismatic” church?2017-06-27T18:43:10+00:00

We believe that the Holy Spirit fills each believer with gifts of various expressions for the encouragement of the whole body.  We believe that these gifts, listed in Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians 12-14, remain active today in God’s people.  In large gatherings, we have placed the expression of some public utterances (prophecy, tongues, words of knowledge) under the direction of our church elders.  Thus, if someone has a prophetic word for the church family, he or she will share it with the service leader before proceeding to speak.

Do you have adult and older youth classes?2017-06-27T18:42:40+00:00

We offer periodic classes for older teens and adults.  Primary small group teaching occurs throughout the week in homes and in discipling groups, though.  Please check the Calendar of Events for any upcoming classes.

How do I get involved in the CCC community?2017-06-27T18:42:07+00:00

We take our small groups seriously – they are gatherings of friends that meet during the week in various homes.  These small groups are the primary place where our community develops. Check the Small Groups page for more!

What do you offer for children and youth?2019-09-30T15:38:01+00:00

We have nurseries and children’s church for infants through the fifth grade.  Middle school and high school students meet during the service on the first and third Sundays of the month. For more information check the Children and Youth page.
