A Place to Belong
We are a community where you can be known, loved, and challenged to grow in your faith. Whether you are a lifelong believer or just beginning to explore the claims of Christianity, you are welcome at Christ Community Church.
Who We Are
Christ Community Church (CCC) is not just a building; it’s a vibrant family of believers dedicated to knowing God, loving one another, and sharing the hope of the Gospel. Our mission is to be, make and send disciples for the glory of Christ.

A Legacy of Faith
Born from the spiritual fervor of the Jesus Movement, Christ Community Church was planted in 1987 with a simple yet profound conviction: to be and make disciples in Charlottesville. The church’s founders, stemming from Oakleigh Christian Fellowship, envisioned a congregation that would balance the timeless truths of Scripture with the dynamic work of the Holy Spirit. This commitment to a “marriage of Word & Spirit” remains a cornerstone of CCC’s identity today.
The dedication of our own building in 1992 marked a significant milestone, a testament to the faithfulness of God. We also planted Blue Ridge Community Church in 1998 and helped to establish e4 Partnership in 2017. Through various stages of the church’s life, we have sought to live and proclaim the gospel faithfully and remain committed to our church-planting roots.

A Vision for the Future
Christ Community Church remains a forward-looking community, guided by a clear and compelling vision: to become a diverse family of communities that thrive in the Holy Spirit and proclaim God’s Kingdom.
We envision a church structured as a “family of communities,” a network of smaller, interconnected congregations that allows for both intimate relationships and missional flexibility. This unique structure fosters diversity, reflecting the beauty of God’s Kingdom. It allows for a variety of expressions of worship and community, all united by a common mission and shared values. As they look to the future, CCC is committed to continuing this legacy of discipleship and multiplication, both locally and globally.
