I AM Still Here: As We Look Forward

A journey with God’s exiled people We all experience times where people or circumstances threaten the foundations of life as we know it. What we thought we could rely upon proves unreliable; the plans we made fall through; our dreams for our life fizzle. These types of unsettledness can be everything from short, personal seasons or extended periods of a people’s history. Where is God? The Scriptures are honest with this question. Time and time again God answers: I am still here, right here, with you. I am with you for your good and for your transformation. I am with you to save. Your foundation will hold because your foundation is ME. The house may need renovation; the life may need regeneration; perspective may need resetting – but the future is secure; you are inheriting a kingdom that cannot be shaken. God’s people experienced a threat of this kind from around 600-400BC. This time of conquered defeat, exile, and confusion eventually became a time of growth, learning, rededication and promise. Out of the reset of exile came a new season for God’s people – a time to own their identity and rejuvenate their hope for Messiah. Are we living in a time where there’s a threat to our identity in Christ? May the Lord strengthen our faith to know: In Him, our foundations are strong. Our house stands upon the Rock. He calls us to trust Him as He sings over us, “His love endures forever.” I am still here.
