His Passion: Innocent

Summary: Guilt and Innocence run through the stories of Jesus arrest and trials.  These themes run through our human story, too, sometimes tangling together for good or for bad.

Scripture: Matthew 26:57-68

Questions:

1.  Tell the story (or journal about) times you experienced guilt, innocence, or some tangled combination of the two (blind spots, false accusations, injustice).  What emotions arise with these experiences?

2.  Look at examples of Jesus’ innocence in chapters 26-27 – how does this help us to know and worship him more.  Look at examples of others’ guilt – do we see their patterns in our own lives?

3.  What is the irony of Jesus’ innocence?  What does this have to do with our salvation?

4.  Where is God calling you to take off the backpack of guilt and put on the freedom of His innocence?  How will you go about this process?
