Everything about our salvation shouts the shocking nature of God’s grace. This is love and life and hope we do not deserve. We didn’t ask for it, design it or purchase it. Christmas celebrates the incarnation of the Son of God. And like the whole of salvation, this essential element in God’s plan brims with grace. The Father didn’t have to send the Son. And he didn’t have to do it in such a humble way, through overlooked and taken-for-granted people. But he did – the Son came from the Father FULL of grace. We’re spending this season unwrapping the elements of grace in the story of Christ’s birth. May we become a grace-full people as we become more aware and appreciate of God’s grace.
