The Spirit’s Voice: Strengthens the Disciple

Sermon Questions

Summary: When the Spirit speaks, he breathes life into our faith.  He testifies that we are God’s children – and the implications of this are glorious.

Scripture: Romans 8:12-17

Reflection Questions:

1.  Are you living in the realm of the Spirit (truth, life, light) or the realm of the flesh (lies, death, sin).  How do you know?  Romans 8:5-11

2. The Spirit testifies with our spirits that we are God’s children (Rom 8:16).  Where do you draw your identity?  What you do, what you say, what you control?  Who are you, and what are the implications?

3. Being God’s child means… we are adopted, free, hopeful, heirs, led.  We know the Father, personally. Which of these truths is the most gripping or poignant right now in your life and why?  Which one do you need  to dwell on more?
