Formed Together: Shapers

Summary: We are clay, not stone – we are people who change. How can we tell whether or not God is the primary one who shapes us?

Scripture: James 1:21-25

1. What are some ways you’ve changed in the last 5 years? The last 10? What ideas, habits, or perspectives have changed? Why?

2. Our perspective on God’s Word is a key gauge for whether God is the primary shaper in our Spiritual Formation. How do you approach the word? As one preoccupied or as one prepared to change?

3. What does it mean when we’re preoccupied with other things? What are some people or things that preoccupy you?

4. What is the hope of the gospel amid all our change? What kind of Potter is our God? (hint: Kintsugi)
