Formed Together: Prophecy

Sermon Questions

Summary: God desires to encourage and strengthen the church with the gift of prophecy. How should it be worked out in our corporate gatherings?

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:1-5

Reflection Questions:

1.  What is prophecy?  Could you define it?  Why is it dependent and submitted to God’s word?

2. What is the purpose of prophecy in the local church?  (14:3)  Have you experienced the prophetic ministry in ways that encouraged your faith?  In ways that were detrimental?  Tell your story.

3.  Do you long to hear God’s voice?  Do you desire to grow in the prophetic? Take steps of listening, discernment, and prayer with your small group.
