Exodus 3:11  He is With Us

Summary

In Exodus 3:11, Moses has “a close encounter” with the Lord as he asks him a very basic and yet vital question;  “Who am I?”.  The Lord then graciously responds when he reminds Moses, “I will be with you”.

Application Questions:

1. When you consider the question, “Who am I?”, what comes to mind?

2. In chapters 3 & 4 of Exodus, Moses hesitates before the Lord 5 times (see 3:11, 13, 4:1, 10 & 13).   Reflect on each of the questions Moses asks, and list specific ways you relate to these hesitancies.  Have any of these hesitancies impeded the mission God’s called you to?  If so, how?

3. Imagine God, the Lord who created the heavens and the universe, speaking these words to you: “I will be with you”.  Observe any impressions or thoughts, which come to mind as you hear God speak these words to your heart.

4. What do you think the church and ostensibly, your life would look like if you owned up to your own “hesitancies” and purposed to move forward in faith?
